This is a quieter space which is located to the left of the foyer as you come into the Colosseum.
In here faith groups have the opportunity to demonstrate a little of how they worship, how they think, what they wear, how they sing. Mostly there will be time for questions as well, but as there are so many groups taking part, time will be limited.
The day starts and ends with some Buddhist chanting from the
Soka Gakkai International lay Buddhists. The
Quakers will demonstrate a short silence, give a short talk and take questions, followed by a talk from a member of the North Watford Mosque.
Rabbi Aaron Goldstein from the Northwood and Pinner
Liberal Synagogue will do some chanting, and Dr Saleh from the
Watford Arabic School will speak next.
Vivienne Woolston, who decided to hold a national interfaith event on 7/7/07 after the London bombings on July 7th 2005 will talk about the event, which is called Thursday’s Child, followed by the
Hare Krishna group from Bhaktivedanta Manor who will be singing bhajans.
Riaz Hussain will speak about Islam from a Muslim individual’s point of view, and the Watford
Sri Sathya Sai Baba Centre is offering bhajans.
Members of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will speak about their work and their worship. For further information please visit
www.lds.org.
Marijah Butcher will be taking people on a personal journey through poems and music, to bring awareness about Indigenous Peoples. See the
Sacred Space Programme for times.
The
Family Federation for World Peace will talk about their peace making work around the world and locally, and the
Ahmadiyya Muslims will also give a talk.
The
Brahma Kumaris work very hard to bring inner and outer peace and will speak about that while the day will end with some Buddhist chanting.
All are welcome to come and go in the Sacred Space, but we do ask that the space and participants are treated with respect and that onlookers will remain quiet throughout.
