The Spanish and Irish dancers dazzled too while Pauline Machache sang movingly of her native Zimbabwe. There were English folk singers Warp and Weft from Folk at the Pump House, United Sang Soo Doo martial arts and the One Voice Community Choir. The Watford Eclipse Majorettes performed as did Dawn Kelly and her belly dancers in a dramatic routine and the Watford African Caribbean Community showed how to tie one of their extraordinary headdresses.
The Watford Chinese Association had gathered together foods of many nations so that in the lunch time free food sampling it was possible to have a plate of Pakistani, Peruvian, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, African and Philippine foods to try.
There was plenty to occupy children, with craft tables, martial arts demonstrations, a railway layout, a face painter and a caricaturist who were kept very busy. There was also some pottery making, while in the Sacred Space people of faith gathered to discuss topics such as the family and the environment in lively debate, with poetry and demonstrations between discussions.
Nearly 50 stalls in the main hall and foyer displayed the work of community, health, faith, social, music, education and service organisations. For a list of all the stalls that took part in this year's event, please click here.
